The Grimaldi Forum

Opened on 20th July 2000 by Prince Rainer III, the Grimaldi Forum is a 3rd-millennium convention and cultural centre offering substantial exhibition and meeting space. Poised between sea and sky in a totally unique setting, the Forum hosts all types of functions and cultural events throughout the year for up to 3,000 people. In 2005, after just 5 years of activity, the Grimaldi Forum Monaco was yet again voted one of the world's top venues by professionals involved in the meetings industry.

The Grimaldi Forum is located in the heart of Monte-Carlo, right on the eastern Larvotto seafront overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Meeting facilities include a 1,800-seat auditorium and a total floor place of 35,000m2 — one of the largest in Southern Europe. The Congress Centre has two exhibition areas of over 4,000m2 each. The rest of the building is divided into 25 modular meeting rooms for 25 to 3,000 delegates, including outdoor terraces and exhibition spaces with sea views. The Grimaldi Forum is just a 15-minute walk away from the historic heart of Monte-Carlo, with its casinos, luxury hotels, bars, cafés, restaurants, and nightclubs.

Monaco Overview

The Principality of Monaco is the second-smallest country in the world after the Vatican City. Spectacularly situated on the French Riveira overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, this tiny city state is surrounded on three sides by France and occupies just under two square kilometres (0.75 square miles) of the Cote d'Azur (The Blue Coast).

Monaco's most well-known district, Monte-Carlo, owes much of its fame to its casinos. Gambling has been the master of Monte-Carlo since 1863, when Prince Charles III inaugurated the first great casino.

The royal dynasty, the Grimaldi family, is an inseparable part of Monaco's history. The royals made world headlines in 1956 when the former monarch Prince Rainier III married the American film star Grace Kelly. HSH Prince Albert II took over as head of state following the death of his father in April 2005.

Although strong in the banking sector, it's tourism that drives the economy, with gamblers flocking to the Place du Casino in Monte-Carlo, and every May the Principality hosts the world-famous Monaco Grand Prix. To its credit, Monaco also plays host to other world-class sports tournaments, including yachting and tennis championships, as well as hundreds of cultural events each year.

The Principality of Monaco is a solid square mile of arts and culture, historic sightseeing, fine dining, sumptuous hotels, luxury shopping, non-stop nightlife, soothing spas — all with the additional legendary excitement of Monte-Carlo. All this and more — situated in an ideal location on the glittering Riviera makes for a fantastic conference destination.
