PRAGUE CONGRESS CENTRE
Prague Congress Centre was built in the 1970s and opened in 1981. It was re-constructed between 1998 and 2000, in time to host the IMF and the World Bank Summit later in the year, and the NATO Summit in November 2002. These international events, attended by many thousands of delegates, were a great success for the Congress Centre at the time and it remains, to this day, a prestigious multifunction meeting centre.
Meeting facilities include a 2,700-seater auditorium and total exhibition space of 13,000m2, making the venue one of the largest in Europe. The Congress Centre has four levels of exhibition space of up to 4,000m2 each; the rest of the building is divided into 18 large conference halls for up to 700 delegates, and 50 smaller meeting rooms for 8 to 80 delegates.
The Congress Centre is one of the dominant features of the capital, enjoying a favourable location on one of Prague's hills with wonderful panoramic views over the city, Vltava River and the surrounding parks. It is possible to see the silhouette of Prague Castle and its many steeples and church towers, cathedrals, palaces, as well as the ancient buildings of the nearby historic centre.
Adjacent to Vysehrad metro station, the Congress Centre is just a short train or taxi ride from the historic heart of the city, with its stunning architecture, hotels, bars, cafés, restaurants and nightclubs.

PRAGUE OVERVIEW
Capital
and largest
city of the Czech Republic, Prague (Praha
in Czech) is widely considered to be one of
the most beautiful cities in Europe: its extensive historic
centre included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage
Sites. Famed for its architecture, the city is home
to the largest castle in the World, Prague
Castle (Vysehrad), and nicknamed "city
of a hundred spires"
and "the golden city".

In
recent years, Prague has become one of Europe's (and
possibly the world's) most popular tourist destinations.
It is the sixth most-visited European city after London,
Paris,
Rome,
Madrid
and Berlin,
offering the visitor one of the world's most pristine
and varied collections of architecture, from Art
Nouveau to Baroque,
Renaissance,
Cubist
, Gothic,
Neo-Classical
and ultra-modern. There are hundreds of concert
halls, galleries, cinemas and musicclubs in the city.
Its traditional pubs and restaurants have now been augmented
by a wave of gourmet restaurants, cocktail bars and
trendy cafes - though you can still feast on pork and
dumplings washed down with a beer!
Ideally
situated at the centre of Europe, Prague is a fantastic
location. European metropolis of culture and congress
destination of world renown, the city hosts tens of
thousands of delegates every year attending international
meetings, conference and exhibitions.
