Fundamental 1
11:00am and 2:00pm
Introduction to EMC’s Knowledge Worker Technologies and Solutions
How can you best expose enterprise content management to your end users? This session provides an overview of EMC's current Knowledge Worker product portfolio and our roadmap to help you effectively incorporate innovative new end-user capabilities into your information management strategy. You'll learn about the current EMC Documentum clients plus integrations into leading end-user applications that further drive worker productivity.
Fundamental 2
11:00am and 2:00pm
Introduction to EMC Transactional Content Management (TCM)
In today’s intensely competitive marketplace, organisations are continually driven to increase productivity, deliver superior customer service, and ensure regulatory compliance—all while reducing costs and with limited resources. This need has given rise to a whole new category of applications that combines the best of EMC’s Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and Business Process Management (BPM) technologies into a single solution platform known as Transactional Content Management (TCM). This session demonstrates how the unification of process, collaboration, information capture & management, and compliance significantly improves customer service-intensive applications such as lending, claims processing, case management and customer/patient care to deliver unrivalled business performance and agility.
Fundamental 3
11:00am and 4:00pm
Fundamentals of Business Process Management
Business process management (BPM) helps organisations improve operational efficiency and employee productivity by providing a comprehensive solution for understanding, automating, and optimising mission-critical processes across the enterprise. This session provides an overview of what comprises a BPM system, how workflow relates to BPM, and how BPM from EMC can provide value across a variety of industries and applications.
Fundamental 4
11:00am and 4:00pm
The Knowledge Warehouse: How XML Enables Enterprise-Wide Knowledge Capture and Sharing
The holy grail of knowledge management is often stymied by the silos of content within the enterprise. Barriers such as inconsistent data structures, proprietary content formats that hide valuable information, and weak search and discovery tools prevent knowledge workers from seeing the big picture and limit opportunities for improving business processes. XML technologies are the first step to overcoming these barriers by enhancing the meaning and relationships of any type of content. When combined with robust content management, collaboration, and content delivery, XML enables comprehensive knowledge warehouses that can help to achieve dramatic improvements in competitiveness and employee performance.
Fundamental 5
2:00pm and 4:00pm
Introduction to Interactive Content with EMC Documentum Web and Digital Asset Management
Today's businesses create large volumes of high-impact, personalized, and brand-focused content such as Web pages, presentations, video, images, flash files, and marketing collateral. You will learn the basics of how Digital Asset Management and Web Content Management can help manage these assets from conception through to publishing. This presentation also includes product overviews, customer examples and demonstrations of the key technologies behind managing interactive content.
Fundamental 6
2:00pm and 4:00pm
Fundamentals of Information Compliance and Archiving
With the explosion of electronic information, archiving and compliance are two topics that are top of mind for most companies worldwide. EMC offers a wide portfolio of solutions focused on addressing the needs of businesses in these areas. This session provides a broad understanding of solutions that are available from EMC to support proactive archiving and compliance readiness, as well as solutions that enable support for information discovery and related events. This overview session sets the stage for deeper-dive sessions on EMC solutions for compliance and archiving and should be attended as an introduction and roadmap to attendance at these later sessions.

KEYNOTE SESSIONS
Tuesday 11th November
11.00am - 12.30pm
ECM: Why the Future is So Bright and What it Means to You
This year’s Momentum keynote address will be a departure from what you’re used to. Don’t worry: you’ll still get all the great information you came for -- but delivered in a truly engaging, interactive format.
You can think of it less as a presentation than an informal conversation. We’ll review with you the current state of the ECM market and preview the future. So of course we'll discuss the way content management is evolving to enable compelling, dynamic, highly intuitive applications -- and we’re dying to talk about how Web 2.0 is driving the emergence of ECM 2.0. Who knows, we even may unveil some new products!
Hosted by Whitney Tidmarsh, Vice President of Marketing for the CMA division of EMC, this presentation will feature some guest experts, including Mark Lewis, President of the CMA division, and John O'Melia, Vice President for CMA in EMEA, who will tell you specifically what we’re doing to address your biggest challenges. Also making a special guest appearance is Royce Bell, CEO for Accenture Information Management Services, who will share his view on emerging content management trends and the need for an holistic, enterprise-wide Information Management strategy.
But wait, there’s more! This session will be full of surprises, which you won’t want to miss. We’d like to tell you more about it, but we can’t give it all away, can we?
Tuesday 11th November
4.30pm - 5.30pm
Products in Motion: Hot Trends in Content Management and Archiving
Balaji Yelamanchili
Senior VP and GM of Content Management and Archiving, EMC Corporation
In this general session, Balaji will take you on a fast-paced tour through all the cool new technical capabilities in the latest releases of our content management and archiving product suites. At the intersection of Web 2.0 and ECM, these releases feature cutting-edge functionality for users while providing additional control for IT. Balaji will astound and amaze you with eye-opening product demos that will inspire you to ask, "Who says technology can't be cool again?"
Thursday 13th November
12.00pm - 1.00pm
We’ll wrap up the conference this year with a review of the highlights by Whitney Tidmarsh, Vice President of Marketing for the CMA division of EMC. Whitney will summarise the product launches and roadmap for content management and archiving in 2009, reflect on this year's conference and look forward to next year’s event.
But we know what you are really looking forward to - the much-anticipated (and always surprising) final keynote presentation by David Gingell, VP of Marketing for EMEA. "Engaging and entertaining, informative and vibrant" - those are just four adjectives that have never been used in relation to a Gingell closer at Momentum. Following criticism of his James Bond routine last year we have decided to take a more serious path in Prague and have dispensed with his services. We are delighted to welcome instead, Carr G. Nicholson III, the noted IT Futurologist, to discuss his views on the future of IT and the trends that will be shaping your business in the future.
To all intents and purposes, Nicholson was born on the web, he is that "future". Whilst Tim Berners-Lee may claim to have invented the Internet, by the age of 10 Nicholson had already conceived of it, scenario-planned its usage in the 21st century and dispensed with it as insecure and purely for those seeking gambling highs and suspect pictures. After intensive studies at the University of Wolverhampton into social-political theories and their impact on organised religions, he took up a position at Dudley Post Office as the sub post-master. His interest in technology never waned though and after devising a dog-deterrent inductor for postmen, he was able to go freelance and indulge his fascination with all things technical. His resume reads like somebody else's. He has written and read extensively. His latest piece for the Droitwich Business Review entitled "IT does Matter, yes, IT really does" was warmly received by almost no-one. Frankly he's seen better days but he still has strident views which he'll be happy to share.
So please do not miss this opportunity to hear the views of an expert.
