Welcome Reception - Monday 10 May, Lisbon Congress Centre, 6.00pm to 9.00pm (sponsored by Studio D)

Momentum Lisbon 04 officially opens with a Welcome Reception in the exhibition area of Lisbon Congress Centre, from 6pm to 9pm on Monday 10th May. You are invited to kick off your conference experience, mingle with colleagues and visit the industry professionals at the conference's opening gathering.

The theme of the evening is the music heritage of Portugal and it's former territories, drawing on the traditional sounds of Portugal, Brazil and Africa (Cape Verde, Angola and Mozambique). 

Cultural Evening - Tuesday 11 May, St George’s Castle (Castelo de São Jorge), 6.00pm to 10.00pm

By special permission of the Mayor of Lisbon, Momentum attendees are invited to enjoy a cultural evening in the Moorish magnificence of St George’s Castle (Castelo de São Jorge): once the original site of Moorish Lisbon, now an evocative shell commanding exhilarating views over the city's terracotta roof tiles and elegant squares.

Join us on an excursion through Lisbon’s picturesque old town culminating in an evening of traditional Portuguese hospitality within the Castle grounds. Travelling through the city centre in the late afternoon, you will be treated to wonderful views of the historical Alfama district with its narrow streets and tiled facades. On arrival at the Castle, guests will be invited to explore the Castle ramparts and enjoy a truly magical evening that includes guided tours, buffets, bars and live entertainment.

Guests will join a Portuguese celebration based on a traditional Lisbon summer festival or Arraial, set in the city's oldest monument.  The entertainment will bring the spirit of the Arraial alive, the summer months when Lisbon transforms during it's annual festivities, with celebrations in the streets and stairways of the historic districts of Alfama and Castelo.  During the festival season, these districts are adorned with colourful paper lanterns, accompanied by Fado music and grilled sardines.

The format of the evening is informal, allowing you to wander the castle grounds and enjoy the views of Lisbon.

Ladies:   Please note that flat, comfortable shoes are recommended due to the cobbled terraces and steps.

Conference Party - Wednesday 12 May, Kais Restaurant

This year's conference party will be held at a top city restaurant, where the “Momentum Awards” will be presented.   The evening commences with a reception, buffet and entertainment at Kais Restaurant, a new and stylish space located in the trendy Docks (Docas) waterfront area of the city. Kais is a refurbished warehouse, offering stylish décor by one of Portugal’s famous interior designers, terrace area, wine cellar, acclaimed international cuisine, live entertainment and a great ambience.

Farewell Lunch – Thursday 13 May, Lisbon Congress Centre

If you are a follower or fan of European football, don’t miss the special closing Keynote Address on Thursday 13th May. Activity in Lisbon is currently frenetic as the city gears up to play host to the Euro 2004 football championships. And to wind up the conference, there will be a special visit to and tour of the José Alvalade Stadium, the brand new 52,000-seater arena that will play host to three Euro 2004 group matches, one quarter-final and one semi-final in June.

Guests will be offered a tour of the stadium, including the pitch and dressing rooms.  Refreshments and canapes will be provided in the Presidential Box, overlooking the pitch.

Onward coach transport will be provided from the Stadium direct to Lisbon International Airport from 4.15pm.
