New
this year, the Documentum Fundamentals are designed to provide
a baseline understanding of key business application areas, including
ECM, WCM, Records Management, Collaboration, Information Lifecycle
Management (ILM) and Content Services for SAP. New users are encouraged
to attend these sessions to attain a basic understanding of all
the possibilities the Documentum platform affords.
The
Documentum Fundamentals classes are not technical, and are offered
free of charge to all attendees. No pre-event sign-up is
required, and the sessions are offered on a first-come first-served
basis on site.
This introductory session will explain how all the capabilities
of the Documentum offering come together in a single environment
to deliver enterprise content management. Learn about the basics
of ECM, find out what capabilities Documentum offers to help businesses
achieve the benefits of a common content environment, and discover
best practices for planning and implementing such a strategy.
In today's business environment, companies often maintain hundreds
of web sites and portals throughout their organisations and managing
this content efficiently poses quite a challenge. In this session,
learn what tools and applications Documentum provides to ensure
users can easily contribute and publish content to web and portal
sites. Additionally, find out how web teams can effectively manage
the content processes associated with their sites, including document
publishing, rich media management and multilingual content management.
See how EMC
and Documentum will enable you to optimise the access, management,
routing, storage, archival, and retrieval of all types of data
and content throughout the entire information lifecycle.
ILM (Information Lifecycle Management) is revolutionising the
way organisations manage their information. Find out how
ILM will shape the future of enterprise content management and
your organisation
This session will provide an overview of Documentum eRoom and
examine how businesses are achieving greater ROI through collaboration.
Discover the unique capabilities of eRoom and see firsthand why
Documentum made the most significant acquisition in our history
to obtain this "killer app."
This session will provide an in-depth
look at Documentum Records Manager, our industry-leading solution
for records management. Learn how this robust offering integrates
with the Documentum platform to enable administration of all physical
and electronic records - including services for e-mail.
Fundamentals
6: Introduction to Content Services for SAP
This session
will discuss the 2004-2005 product roadmap, specific technology
direction and customer strategies geared towards dramatically
increasing the return on investment in Documentum and SAP through
a seamless leverage of both vendors' latest technologies (i.e.
R/3 Enterprise, SAP Enterprise Portal, NetWeaver, Webtop, DFC).
SAP
is the world's leading ERP vendor. Many customers use Documentum's
Content Services for SAP to leverage their existing
Documentum and SAP R/3 investments. This enables them to:
- Streamline
business processes by providing SAP end-users access to critical
supporting documents and content
- Enable
reuse of SAP documents and data across the enterprise (e.g.
web publishing, document workflows, distribution)
- Manage
SAP documents and data through the complete Information Lifecycle,
using the Documentum Repository and other storage options (e.g.
EMC Centera, Legato Disk Extender)
Content
Services for SAP consists
of a set of components which enable SAP end-user access to content
and the deployment of server agents for automated archiving and
linking of content. The product is designed to be transparent
to users within SAP client software, thereby reducing the total
cost of ownership while providing sophisticated content management.
Upcoming releases will focus on providing SAP users access
to richer content and content-management services using visual
components based on Webtop/WDK and the Business Object Framework
(BOF) of the Documentum Foundation Classes (DFC). This
will also provide broader platform support, improved scalability
and better integration to the newer thin-client SAP client interfaces.

Keynote
Addresses
Dave
DeWalt will kick off Momentum Lisbon by discussing the company's
future strategy and how Documentum continues to influence technology
direction. DeWalt also will address how recent acquisitions and
product developments are helping Documentum users improve productivity,
share best practices, and leverage corporate content assets. Finally,
DeWalt will share insights he has gained from customers and partners
and describe how companies can leverage even greater benefits
from Documentum by making it a core part of their enterprise IT
infrastructure.
Since joining Documentum four years ago as Executive Vice President
and General Manager of e-Business, DeWalt has piloted the transition
of Documentum from an esteemed document management company to
the leader in enterprise content management and extended enterprise
collaboration. DeWalt brings more than 15 years of experience
in the high tech trenches to his role at Documentum, including
six years at Oracle. With stints in engineering, product management,
marketing, and sales management, his cross-functional business
approach has been key to building a market-driven company.

Compliance
- who cares? Very few organisations are compliant – are you one
of those brave enough to admit that you are not? After all, why
would turkeys vote for Christmas? Do you want your business to
benefit from compliance activity, or just spend money achieving
it? What risks are there that you don't know about? What should
you be doing now? Tom Rothwell will start the second day addressing
these questions and describing how organisations have turned compliance
issues to their advantage.
Tom is the
General Manger – Fujitsu Document and Content Management Solutions
(Europe). Fujitsu, one of the largest IT companies in the world
is also one of the two Documentum Global alliance SI partners.
Fujitsu has over 15 years experience in the development and delivery
of document and content management solutions. Tom has over 25
years experience in the IT industry spanning engineering, consultancy,
marketing and programme management. For the past three years he
has been responsible for the Fujitsu Content Management Solutions
business during which time it has experienced an order of magnitude
growth, a reflection on his passion for the business and the exciting
times we live in. Tom is a frequent speaker at technology and
industry conferences.
Howard
will close Momentum Lisbon with a special presentation entitled
“Enterprise Content Management
meets Integrated Lifecycle Management: Vision, Trends, and Business
Opportunities in the year 2010”. At this
session Howard will discuss how major industry trends will impact
both ECM and ILM in the coming years, technological directions
for Documentum, and the opportunities for your business.
Innovation,
advancement, and vision - values that have enabled Documentum
to continually expand the definition of enterprise content management
(ECM) and gain the leadership position in the enterprise ECM market.
With
the recent acquisition by EMC, Documentum once again sets trends
and shakes up an industry. EMC selected Documentum, for not only
best-in-class products, but because Documentum's vision is shaping
the future for both ECM and information lifecycle management (ILM).
