9.30am to 10.30am
Tom Rothwell
European Head of Enterprise Content Management Solutions, Fujitsu

Tom Rothwell, Fujitsu's European Head of Enterprise Content Management Solutions, will present the Diamond Sponsor Keynote Address, opening the second day of Momentum Barcelona. Tom's presentation is intriguingly titled “ECM – Information source or sink?”

Driven by regulatory requirements for demonstrable compliance, many organisations have spent considerable time and money identifying their information assets and transferring them into ECM systems, where they can be maintained under strict controls. The challenge, of course, besides avoiding penalties for failure to comply, is actively putting information to good business use. In essence, how can you generate benefit from mandated investment?

It's the process, stupid! In the past, organisations' production processes were focused on tangibles manipulated by unskilled or semi-skilled workers, the added value in the future production processes will increasingly be derived from the skills and judgement of experts, making use of the information available to them. So how can organisations harness their information assets and human expertise in the most effective way?

It's the content, stupid! In the past information was stored and delivered to staff in a haphazard and chaotic way, in the future, information will need to be delivered in content – information that is appropriate to the task in hand.

In his presentation, Tom will discuss proven methods and solutions that address the process efficiency and organisational agility, and that ensure delivery of the right nugget of information, to the right person, at the right time.
